Tested Capacity Development Tools and Resources

This website archives the best New Partners Initiative (NPI)  how-to guides, innovative tools, templates, training materials and links to state-of-the-art practices.

Created under the U.S. President's Emergency Fund for Aids Relief (PEPFAR), NPI was a signature effort to help new and diverse non-governmental organizations (NGOs) develop their capacity to fight HIV/AIDS at the local level. NPI came to a close on September 30, 2012 after five years of providing more than 29 grantees and 219 implementing partners across 14 countries with technical assistance and broad-based trainings designed to ensure that know-how developed under their award would be institutionalized and sustainable.

Please use, adapt and share the resources and tools found here.                                                                    —The NPI Team

Meetings Capture Lessons Learned and Best Practices

In January 2012, representatives from NPI grantees and  the U.S. Government, as well as experts in organizational development and institutional strengthening, gathered at end-of-project (EOP) meetings in Kampala, Uganda and in Johannesburg, South Africa. The meetings were designed to share lessons learned and highlight best practices that helped bolster grantees' capacity to plan, implement and sustain more effective HIV/AIDS interventions.

The video clip below provides an overview of the EOP event held in South Africa.
